To our valued customers,

Here in Vermont, things are progressing faster than we had hoped for. Yesterday Governor Phil Scott issued a Stay Home Stay Safe order effective today, March 25 at 5:00 pm EST.

All businesses and not-for-profit entities not expressly exempted and deemed essential must suspend all in-person business operations until May 15th or until further notice.

To comply with this order, we are closing our operation at 5:00 pm EST today, March 25. We are shipping all the approved orders we can today.

Many of us will still be working from home. We want to be available for you during this time so please note the following:

When the 800 number is called, callers will hear a recorded message saying we are closed. You may email us at info@35.208.208.231. Emails will be responded to within 24 hours.

We appreciate your patience during this trying time. Stay positive, stay home, stay safe.

Dear Mary Meyer Partners and Customers,

Our people are our greatest resource. We are being reminded of this today more than ever. We all have received COVID-19 letters from the businesses and organizations that are important to us and our families. I would like to keep mine simple.

As the news of the COVID-19 health emergency grows more concerning each day, we realize our customers, sales representatives and partners may have questions nobody considered just days ago.

Are Mary Meyer products safe? Yes. All Mary Meyer products shipped to our customers spent 30+ days at sea as well as time stored in our warehouse here in Vermont. All shipments are packed and shipped from our warehouse in rural Townshend, Vermont. According to the CDC, the likelihood of contracting the corona virus via a shipped cardboard box is extremely low.

What steps is Mary Meyer taking to minimize the spread of the corona virus? We are disinfecting our premises on an ongoing basis paying particular attention to common areas, shipping stations, doors, and bathrooms. Each employee is also disinfecting their own equipment and workspace. Social distancing has become the new normal here. Also, no visitors (personal or professional) are allowed in the buildings. This includes delivery personnel.

What is Mary Meyer doing for its employees? On any given day, 50% of our employees will be working from home regardless of their position. This work from home plan will rotate every two weeks. That means 100% of our employees will spend lots of time at home, even if the required work is just to remain healthy. Our employees on site will provide support to our retailers and sales representatives and also keep any shipping on schedule. All employees will receive their usual weekly pay. This plan increases social distancing and requires less time out and about in public.

There is more to business than transactions. The relationships we have with customers new and old are vital to us. Thank you for your trust in Mary Meyer, we will be here to serve you every step of the way.

Please stay in good health. We are all in this together.

To our very valued customers,

We’ve all heard a lot about the Corona Virus in recent weeks and yet it’s been difficult to determine the facts of the situation. Above and beyond the direct health concerns, we’ve heard questions raised about the safety of our toys as they are produced and shipped from China.

Fortunately for us, most of our products were either here in the USA or on their way when the outbreak worsened. This means that our supply chain was nominally affected and that our current supply didn’t even overlap with the virus’s spread. Better news still came from Dr. Nancy Messonnier, director of the Center for Disease Control’s Center for Immunization and Respiratory Diseases, who said recently, “In general, because of poor survivability of these coronaviruses on surfaces, there is likely very very low risk of spread from products or packaging that are shipped over a period of days or weeks at ambient temperatures,”

Of course, none of this good fortune on our part can diminish the human suffering that this virus has caused. We hope, along with all of you, that there will soon be new means to arrest both the spread and tragic impact of this outbreak.

As always, we deeply appreciate your business and are proud to be part of your lives. Thank you for your patience and understanding during this complex time and we’ll continue to keep you updated as this situation develops.

Our very best to you and yours,

Kevin Meyer
